Our Production:
HANDLING WITH CARE
—
Here at Canus we celebrate and utilise the inherent qualities of Friuli, favouring the cultivation of native vines such as Friulano, Ribolla and Pignolo, without neglecting more international ones like Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Merlot.
Our wines are full-bodied and with a relatively high alcohol content. The vines are trained by the Guyot and Spurred cordon systems, with a planting density of 5-6,000 plants per hectare. Our grapes are hand-picked into crates and carefully selected. The pressing of the grapes is soft and gentle. The vinification, customised for each variety, is closely monitored, and the fermentation is thermoregulated accordingly. Our wines age both in steel tanks and wood barrels. The reds, on account of their unique structure, get refined in oak barrels and tonneaux for long periods of time, up to 3 to 4 years.
