GRAMOGLIANO

GRAMOGLIANO

DOC Friuli Colli Orientali

The hills of Gramogliano – the “ronchi di Gramogliano” – constitute a micro-territory with peculiar geological, historical and geographical characteristics. Here we work to obtain healthy and ripe grapes, mothers of wines that are an organoleptic distillate of the terroir, entirely managing the production chain. Gramogliano has what it takes to express a wine that bears its name: our interpretation is a cuvée that translates its historical complexity, modulated on the characteristics of the vintage. Sapidity, structure and elegance are the common thread that makes our Gramogliano distinctly identifying.

THE GRAPES It is a cuvée of white wines with a prevalence of Sauvignon accompanied by other wines of white berried varieties, all children of our vineyards and the result of a selection based on the characteristics of the vintage
THE VINEYARDS On the Ronco di Gramogliano, with East-South East exposure, Guyot training and average age of the vines of 25 years
THE SOIL Eocene marls and sandstones, locally called “ponca” (flysch) with clay veins
THE HARVEST
Manual, with collection in boxes - yield of 60 q/h
THE VINIFICATION
Crushing and destemming of the grapes. Soft pressing. Must cooling at +12°C. Static settling 36 hours. Fermentation at controlled temperature 18/20°C in steel. A percentage is vinified in wood, with subsequent batonnage. Bottle aging 18/24 months. The wine goes on the market two years after the harvest
THE TASTE
Bright straw yellow color with golden nuances. The nose is winy and graceful, it unfolds in a composed and complex bouquet where elderberry, pink grapefruit, lichi - with its slight tropical note - and hollyhock appear. In the mouth it is dry, frank, open with marked sapidity and a harmonious range in the making.
